| Welcome to the Ashcan Theatre Company website. We are
East Kent’s premier small-scale theatre company. Founded in 2002
(see Brief History page for more detail) we
aim to produce challenging, small cast, contemporary theatre with the
highest possible standards of acting, direction and staging possible in
intimate venues.
Latest News – After the success of our last Cafe
Theatre production of “Duck Variations” by David Mamet at
The Farmhouse in Canterbury last February (see Review link), we are ready
to start rehearsals for our next show at the same in venue in early October.
We shall be staging Anton Chekhov’s hilarious short comedy “The
Bear” in a version created by the acclaimed Irish playwright Brian
Friel. |
The show is being directed by Alan Pope and sees the welcome
return of Mike Ayris in an Ashcan production
in the role of Luka. Also making a return, in the role of Smirnov, is
Mike Rivarno, last seen in “On
An Average Day” in February 2009. Making her debut for Ashcan
is Serena Sykes, who is playing the part of Elena Popova. For more details,
go to the Forthcoming Productions page.
The show will be performed on Tuesday October 5th, Wednesday 6th, and
Thursday 7th at The
Farmhouse, 11 Dover Street, Canterbury CT1 3HD. The cost of tickets
is £16.00, which as usual, includes the cost of a 2 Course meal.
Doors open at 19.00hrs. Telephone 01227-456118 to reserve your table.
As the seating capacity is limited, it is vital to pre-book your seat.
